Here are the 13 most rare and valuable gemstones and minerals ever seen in the world like the blye Benitoite and red diamonds! Subscribe for new videos Monday Wednesday and Friday! 8. Jeremejevite This mineral was discovered way back in 1883 by a French mineralogist named Augustin Alexis Damour, who named it after the Russian scientist Pavel Vladimirovich Eremeev. The crystal was found on Mt. Soktui in Siberia, Russia. Since then, it has been described as being found in the Eifel District of Germany and in the Pamir Mountains in Namibia. This rare aluminum borate mineral is comprised of variable hydroxide and fluoride ions. 7. Poudretteite This mineral was first found during the mid-1960’s in the Poudrette quarry of Mont Saint-Hilaire, Quebec. However, it wasn’t until 1987 that the poudretteite was fully recognized as a new mineral. Even then, this mineral wasn't described in depth until 2003. As stated by several different sources, it’s believed that only a relative few will ever come into contact with this mineral and let alone ever even hear it mentioned. 6. Grandidierite This is considered to be an extremely rare mineral and gem that was first seen in 1902 on the Island of Madagascar. It was named in honor after the French explorer Alfred Grandidier who once studied the island’s natural history. Grandidierite comes in a bluish-green color and is located almost entirely in Madagascar, although, there was a clean faceted sample that was found in Sri Lanka. Grandidierite is also pleochroic, which means it's able to absorb different wavelengths of light differently and that results in different colors, such is the same ability with the gems tanzanite and alexandrite. 5. Painite This gemstone was first discovered back in the 1950’s in Myanmar by a British mineralogist named Arthur C. D. Pain. For the next several decades only two fragments of the hexagonal mineral were known to exist on earth. By the time the year 2005 rolled around, there were still less than 25 discovered pieces of painite and The Guinness Book of World Records had declared it the world's rarest gemstone mineral. However, that was 11 years ago and since then the origin of the original stones has been found, along with two other major locations that have led to the discovery of thousands of small samples of painite fragments. Even so, they’re still considered one of the world’s rarest minerals. 4. Red Beryl Also known as bixbite, "red emerald", or "scarlet emerald", red beryl was first reported as far back as 1904. Even though its chemical compound is closely similar to that of aquamarines and emeralds, it’s actually considered to be rarer than both of them. What gives the mineral its red color palette is thanks to the presence of ManganeseⅢ+ ions. It can be found in parts of New Mexico and Utah where it’s actually proven to be quite difficult to mine. Because of this, prices for red beryl are known to reach high levels and have even gone on to be around 10,000 per karat for stones. 3. Ammolite This rare gemstone can be found mainly in the eastern region of the Rocky Mountains of North America. Ammolite is an opal-like gemstone that is solely made up of the fossilized shells of extinct animals known as ammonites. This makes ammolite one of the few biogenic gemstones that exist, along with pearls and amber. Ammolites weren’t officially recognized as gemstones until 1981 when they were given official status by the World Jewellery Confederation. That’s also the same year that commercial mining for ammolite began. 2. Tanzanite It’s been said that tanzanite is 1,000 times rarer than a diamond, which might as well be the case considering the fact that it can be found almost entirely near the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. This is where the perfect conditions lie in order to form the mineral. Like grandidierite, tanzanite is able to produce striking shifts in color based on the crystal’s orientation and the certain lighting conditions. Caltech's geology division states this is because the color variations are caused by the existence of vanadium ions. 1. Red Diamonds Did you know that diamonds come in a variety of colors? In fact, diamonds can range from being yellow, brown, colorless, blue, green, black, pink, orange, and red. That’s also the same order of how rare each diamond is classified as with yellow being the least and red being the most. Not only that but diamonds are also the hardest natural substances that form here on earth. Just like the colorless diamond, the red diamond is made purely out of carbon, however, what gives the diamond its red color is actually a deformation of their atomic structure that’s known as a “plastic deformation”. The Moussaieff Red is the largest red diamond in the world among the little known other red diamonds that have been discovered.

These gemstones are the most valuable ever found. Surprisingly it's not just expensive diamonds that made the list! Ever heard of jadeite for instance...? Subscribe to World5List http://goo.gl/cpJSA6 Find us on... -- http://www.boredbadger.com -- http://www.facebook.com/world5list Have you ever dug up your garden only to uncover a ten thousand dollar diamond? Us either. While that’s unlikely to happen to the average Joe, it’s definitely happened. Join us as we unearth some of the most valuable gemstones that were found in the most peculiar ways! Rare Gem or Paperweight? Imagine you were attending a garage sale or a comic-con convention and you saw a stack of money being used as a paperweight. A bit ridiculous, right? Well that’s kind of what happened to mineral dealer Morgan Sonsthagen. Sonsthagen was attending the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show when he came across a table using a beautiful pinkish-orange rock as a paperweight. Diamond in the Rough During a dig in Russia’s Udachnaya diamond mine, miners discovered a rock with two unusual characteristics - a red and green hue and, oh, 30,000 miniature diamonds. Since the diamonds were so small, they couldn’t be made into jewelry, but the team donated it to science to see if someone could unearth how this rare stone came to be. Finders Keepers America hosts a few mining sites where amateur miners and tourists can search for precious gems. That’s just what Bobbie Oskarson did one day. Originating from Longmont, Colorado, this tourist took a trip to Arkansas, home of the Crater of Diamonds State Park. Turning Rocks into Riches One family of diggers turned their fun hobby into mind-blowing headlines. W. Renn Adams’s family took up the hobby of digging on the family farm to look for interesting, and hopefully valuable, gemstones. The hobby even turned into a business when the family charged the public to dig by hand in the 70s and 80s. After retiring, Adams continued the tradition, but like the generations before, he never found anything with real value. Historic Eruption While this next gemstone is not a huge money-maker due to its rarity, its unique discovery lead to the creation of a large niche in the gemstone market. Volcanoes are infamous for the damage they cause, but a volcanic eruption is what lead to the discovery of one of the most beautiful gemstones ever found. Mount St. Helens, located in Skamania County, Washington, was said to be a dormant volcano where tourists and locals like gather to gawk at its beauty. Big Beauty While the last five treasures we discussed were impressive, we’ve saved the best for last. Just this past October, the mother of all finds was unearthed in Burma. A team of government-employed Burmese miners were working in a mine in Kachin State and simply doing what miners do, searching for precious, valuable gemstones to bring to the man. That’s when they stumbled across a monster of a stone, which turned out to be a nearly 200-ton, 14-foot-high-by-19-foot-long beautiful jade boulder.

The 10 Most Expensive Minerals in the World 10. Rhodium Rhodium is an incredibly rare and useful mineral. The silver-white noble metal is considered an incredibly expensive item in the world, at over $56 per gram. 9. Painite Painite is an incredibly beautiful mineral, but one that will set you back $60,000 per carat to own. It is also one of the hardest to find, and was first discovered in 1950. 8. Diamond Diamond has long been the commercial mineral that most people will opt for in a purchase. This alluring mineral will cost up to $55,000 per gram, though. 7. Black Opal Black Opal is another beautiful stone known for both its price and its rarity. It has become the national gemstone of Australia, where over 95 percent are harvested. The average value is sitting at around $2,350 per carat. 6. Platinum We see a lot of fake platinum around the world, but the real thing – which is a silver-like metal – is worth around $60 per gram. Most deposits are found in South Africa and Russia. 5. Gold A lot of people think gold is the most expensive mineral in the world, but that is wrong. It is expensive, but only costs about $56 per gram. 4. Rubies Rubies are another wonderful gem known for being quite expensive. They are often considered the single most expensive gemstone ever. Their impressive red color comes from chromium. Per carat, the ruby costs over $3,000. 3. Jadeite Jadeite is a unique mineral that is something of a mystery. It is one of the most desired and valuable gems in the entire world, though, at over $3 million per carat. 2. Blue Garnet The Blue Garnet comes in a variety of other colors, not just blue, including green, orange, pink, purple, and even yellow. They were first discovered in Madagascar back in the 1990s, and are worth around $1.5 million per carat. 1. Lithium Lithium has become a crucial mineral in the production of rechargeable batteries. The first was discovered in 1817 in Stockholm, Sweden. Today, Lithium production and mining is a multi-billion dollar industry. TOP 10 Rarest and Most Expensive Gemstones Ever 1. Jadeite – more than $3 million per carat This gemstone is actually a pyroxene mineral, usually of apple green, emerald green, bluish green or leek green in color. There have also been some that are either greenish white or white with some green spots. Jadeites are colorless in the thin section of the stone. The more intense the green, the more expensive the stone will get. The Chinese, however, also value the white jadeite with green spots. A deep blue-green jadeite that emits a translucent hue has also been discovered in recent times in Guatemala. While it is considered valuable because of historical reasons as the Mesoamerican Olmec used it, the rarity of this specific kind of jadeite has yet to be established. Once the Guatemalans start actively mining for it and confirms its rarity, the value may increase even more. 2. Red Diamonds – $2 million to 2.5 million per carat This gemstone is very rare. Most of it are actually purplish red, and not crimson or pure red. A mining company located in Australia gets to find only a small number of red diamonds every year. These are then sold at an auction once every couple of years, and you can just imagine the interest, demand and price that the red diamonds command. 3. Serendibite – $1.8 million to 2 million per carat The serendibite gemstone is an extremely rare mineral that bears boron. Only two areas have been known to produce quality serendibite, namely Ratanapura in Sri Lanka and Mogok in northern Burma. Most of the serendibites found are blue green, grayish blue or pale yellow with a white streak. 4. Blue Garnet – $1.5 million per carat There are many kinds of garnet in the market. You can find it in a variety of colors, from black, brown, green, orange, pink, purple, red and yellow. There have even been some that do not have any color. But none can compare to the price of the blue garnet. This gemstone was discovered in Madagascar in the 1990s, though it has since been mined in Russia, the United States and Turkey as well. While it has a blue green shade, the generous amount of vanadium in the stone makes it emit a purplish hue when it is held against incandescent lighting. 5.Grandidierite – $100,000 per carat Alfred Grandidier was a natural historian famed in the archaeology world for his discovery in Madagascar of the skeletons and remains of an elephant bird that weighed half a ton and that has been extinct for thousands of years. He is also famous in the world of gemology for discovering in Sri Lanka a rare stone that transmits blue, green and white light. Initially, they thought it was the gemstone serendibite, but after closer scrutiny, gemologists concluded that it was a totally new stone. It was thereafter named after Grandidier. 6. Painite – $50,000 – 60,000 per carat Discovered in the 1950s by the Englishman Arthur C. Pain, painite is a rare borate material. It has a natural hexagon shape and has an orange-red or brownish-red color. Trace amounts of iron, vanadium and chromium are present in the stone. While it used to be the rarest stone in the world, more have been unearthed and discovered in Burma recently. 7. Musgravite – $35,000 per carat This gemstone is actually a silicate mineral that was first discovered in Australia in an area called Musgrave. While similar minerals have since been unearthed in Madagascar, Greenland and Sri Lanka, it is still considered very rare. There are trace amounts of aluminum, berrylium and magnesium present in the stone. ========================== semi precious stones types of gems gemstones for sale list of gemstones most expensive jewelry jewels and gems most expensive gemstone most expensive stone most expensive mineral most expensive gem most precious stones rarest gem in the world most valuable gemstones rarest diamond in the world most expensive gemstones most expensive rock ========================== Facebook ► https://www.facebook.com/Mega-News-1728374423845386/ Twitter ► https://twitter.com/meganews77 Google+ ► https://plus.google.com/113281215443356264322 Tumblr ► https://meganews77.tumblr.com/ Pinterest ► https://pinterest.com/meganews77/ Reddit ► https://www.reddit.com/user/MegaNews77/ Linkedin ► https://www.linkedin.com/in/mega-news-858b93137 LiveJournal ► http://meganews77.livejournal.com/ Please Like & Subscribe Mega News https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0P4_2nrwEMw2A1TCsfQYdg https://youtu.be/nWUVj-YV4eA

Most of the materials on this top 13 list people will never get a chance to see themselves because these are expensive and rare! Subscribe to American Eye http://goo.gl/GBphkv 7. Rhino Horn Many Chinese remedies call for Rhino horn as an ingredient and many people claim it’s a miracle drug. It’s thought to have powers that can cure cancer, is an aphrodisiac and cures hangovers. Despite the fact it’s made of the same material as fingernails, it’s highly sought after and people are willing to fork up a huge price in order to get their hands on it. The price of rhino can vary immensely depending on who it’s sold to and where, a nd is more expensive per pound than any illegal drug.. Some claim they are able to sell it for more than 60 thousand dollars per pound! With prices this high, poachers can make an easy buck and quick. Unfortunately, the high price has financed their operations and we can only hope there will be an end to this black market. 6. Plutonium If you’re trying to get ahold of some plutonium, it might be quite difficult. Plutonium is present in nature it needs to be chemically altered for it to be useful, or destructive, to humans. This nuclear substance can sell for about $4000 per gram. It’s also one of the most dangerous substances due to its radioactivity. It can be used for nuclear weapons, and reactors to create energy. Freshly prepared plutonium shares a similar color to silver but turns out to be a more oxidized green color once exposed to air. Since the substance is so expensive and rare, when nuclear weapons are decommissioned, the plutonium is occasionally extracted and used in power plants. 5. Soliris Soliris is a prescription drug that treats a rare, otherwise fatal disease and there’s no other drug out there that can cure it. Named aHUS, this illness severely affects kidneys and other vital organs. Per gram, this drug is worth 13 thousand dollars. One years treatment can leave a patient extremely broke, paying possibly 600,000 in one year. It was declared by Forbes to be the most expensive. It connects to proteins in our blood that attack people who have genetic conditions that affect the immunity and protection of red blood cells. Why is it so expensive though? Well it is extremely effective and if you suffer from the disease, you’ll die without it. 4. Diamonds Also known as a girl’s best friend, this rare substance pairs great with gold already mentioned in our list. They’ve been prized for their symmetry and ability to last forever. They are the most expensive gemstone and are formed underneath the Earth’s crust due to extreme pressure and heat. All this allows carbon molecules to turn into this lovely gemstone that’s driven humans insane since they were discovered. Some scientists have even developed diamond factories that recreate the same intense pressure found in the earth’s crust. Since diamonds are so well-sought after, it has created much violence in some countries in Africa. 3. Mystery Slime We’ve looked through some substances that might have seemed completely useless until someone found a good purpose for it. Although this rare red mystery slime doesn’t have a purpose just yet, they’ll certainly find some use for it. This red mucus is only found in the fjords of northern Norway and many scientists are left scratching their heads. Some believe they are possibly dead jellyfish turned into some type of organic jelly. But no one knows for sure what it is. The Norwegians however, will most likely not be spreading this on their toast. What could this recently discovered substance be. Could something like this become extremely valuable in the future? 2. Tritium Tritium is a naturally occurring substance on earth but extremely rare and hard to come by. Only tiny particles are possible to get, making you extremely lucky if you do. It forms when deuterium or nitrogen atoms are struck by cosmic rays. This creates the spectacular glowing appearance we see in exit, neon signs and anything that can glow especially in watches, allowing you to see the hand when it’s dark. Tritium can glow brightly for at least 12 years long! 1.Antimatter How could something with a name like antimatter actually exist? Well, it’s basically the opposite of normal matter, if that makes sense. In antimatter, the electrons are negatively charged, and the protons are negatively charged. They believe antimatter was released during the big bang. It’s by far the most expensive substance to create, which causes about 100 billion dollars to make one milligram of antimatter. Despite the cost, this doesn’t stop organisations like Nasa from trying to produce antimatter. So what’s it look like? Good question. It’s best to look at it from an atomic level until enough is produced to observe exactly like you see in this photo. Some believe this substance will have powers to reach other galaxies.
